Object: A battery or a battery-powered device
Challenge: Take a battery and try to power a small device with it, like a flashlight. Then try the same device with a weak or dead battery. Notice the difference!
Verse: Ephesians 5:15–16 – “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Lesson: Just as a battery needs to be charged to power a device, our spiritual lives need regular “charging” through prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience to God. Without it, we can’t serve Him effectively or shine His light to others. Staying spiritually charged keeps us ready for God’s work, helps us make wise choices, and allows us to be a blessing to those around us. A drained battery can’t function, and similarly, a heart disconnected from God struggles to accomplish His purposes.
Reflection Questions:
- What spiritual practices help keep your “battery” charged?
- How does being spiritually ready affect the way you serve others?
- What happens if we try to serve God without staying connected to Him?
Prayer:
Lord, help me stay spiritually charged and connected to You. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I am ready to serve, make wise choices, and shine Your light to others every day. Amen.
