Object: A puzzle with some missing pieces
Verse: Psalm 16:11 – “You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.” (WEB)
Lesson: Hold up a puzzle with missing pieces. No matter how beautiful the picture is, when pieces are missing, it’s incomplete and unsatisfying. In the same way, our lives will feel empty when we try to fill the missing spaces with things like success, friends, money, or achievements. These things may look good, but they never make the picture complete.
Now show the puzzle with all the pieces in place. Only when every piece is fitted correctly do we see the full picture. Christ is the missing piece in many people’s lives. When we trust Him and walk in His plan, He brings meaning, joy, and purpose that nothing else can provide.
Application: Without Christ, we’re like an unfinished puzzle. We might try to force other pieces into place, but they’ll never fit. True joy and completeness are found only in Him. When we align our lives with His Word and presence, the picture of our lives becomes whole and beautiful.
Reflection Questions:
- What are some “wrong puzzle pieces” people try to use to fill their lives?
- How has Jesus filled in the missing pieces of your life?
- What does it mean for you to find joy in His presence every day?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You complete the picture of my life. Help me not to chase after things that will never fit. Teach me to find my joy and purpose in You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
