Object: A bottle of water or a picture/drawing of a well.
Challenge: Hold up a bottle of water and take a sip. Notice how refreshing it is—but also how quickly you’ll need more later.
Verse: John 4:13–14 – “Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.’”
Lesson: Just as a well or a bottle of water refreshes your body, Jesus offers something far greater—living water. Physical water can only satisfy for a short time, but the water Jesus gives satisfies the deepest thirst of our souls. People often try to fill their lives with entertainment, success, relationships, or possessions, but those things never bring lasting joy. Only Christ can. When we come to Him, He not only refreshes us in the moment but gives us a source of life and joy that never runs dry.
Reflection Questions:
- What are some “wells” people go to that don’t truly satisfy?
- Have you ever experienced Jesus filling your heart with His peace and joy?
- How can you share the “living water” of Jesus with someone else this week?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the Living Water who satisfies my heart completely. Help me not to chase after empty things but to come to You daily for true refreshment and joy. Fill me so that Your life flows out of me to others. Amen.
