Devotion
Show ten small items (like coins, buttons, or stones) and set them on a table. As you speak, remove nine and leave one.
Once, Jesus met ten men with leprosy — a terrible disease that made them outcasts, unable to live with their families or friends. They stood far away and cried out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” (Luke 17:13). Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priests, and as they went, they were healed!
Imagine their joy — their skin was clean, their pain was gone, and they could finally go home. But out of the ten, only one came back to thank Jesus. He fell at His feet, praising God with a loud voice. Jesus asked, “Weren’t ten cleansed? But where are the nine?”
This story shows us how easy it is to receive blessings but forget to be thankful. The one who came back not only received healing — he received something greater: a closer relationship with Jesus and the honor of worshipping at His feet. Gratitude always draws us closer to Christ.
Key Verse
“One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.” — Luke 17:15
