Object: A toolbox with various tools
Challenge: Open a toolbox and examine the different tools inside. Notice how each tool has a specific purpose for a specific task.
Verse: Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (WEB)
Lesson: Just as a toolbox contains different tools for specific jobs, God has given each of us unique skills, talents, and abilities. He designed us intentionally to carry out His work and serve His purposes. When we use our gifts for His glory—helping others, teaching, creating, serving—we are fulfilling the good works He prepared for us. Each skill we have is a tool in God’s hands, when we are surrendered to Him, and when used faithfully, they build His kingdom and bless those around us.
Reflection Questions:
- What are some of the skills or talents God has given you?
- How can you use your abilities to serve God and others this week?
- Are there ways you might be keeping your “tools” in the toolbox instead of using them for God’s purposes?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for creating me with unique talents and skills. Help me to use them faithfully for Your glory, to serve others, and to fulfill the good works You have prepared for me. Amen.
